Do you work in the emergency services, and want to learn to ride a motorcycle?
Starting this April, if you work in the NHS, Fire Service or Police Force then we'll teach you to ride a motorbike and get you up to test standard - for free.
There is no catch. You don't have to buy a bike from us now, or ever. We hope after passing that you do go on to buy a bike and that when you do, you do it locally. Of course, it would be great if you do buy from us but that's not the deal.
Why are we doing this? We're a family owned, managed and staffed business of 25 or so bikers. It's our little way of saying thanks for the work you all do, and giving a bit back locally.
All you need is to cover the cost of your fees to the DVSA for the Theory, Mod1 and Mod2 test; currently £23, £15.50 and £75 respectively.
We'll allocate plenty of spaces each month and give you up to 14 hours of tuition for free, as well as your CBT. If all of the spaces are taken when you call, you'll go on the waiting list and as one person passes their test, one will come off the waiting list.
We've been absolutely inundated since the post went up, which is a great thing. The post has now reached more people than new big bikes were sold last year in the whole of the UK!
Lisa is working her way through the enquiries, but we've taken the number down and moved to a hastily written form on our website to try and capture everybody:
Don't worry though, the plan is to run this all year and as one rider passes, one will come off the waiting list.
We're committing around a quarter of the capacity of our instructors to this project in the initial months and beyond, to get it going as quickly as we can, for as many riders as we can.
