Northumbria  men’s and women’s attended Police Sport UK national Basketball finals in Edinburgh on 7th, 8th and 9th June 2019. There were twenty one police teams competing from across England and Scotland.

Our women’s team got off to an excellent start with a commanding victory over Police Scotland Forth Valley. However a nail biting game with the MET, saw our team lose 29-28 and exit the tournament. The team are determine to return to next year, fitter and stronger.

Our men’s team had a difficult start to the tournament losing their first game to Avon and Summerset and did not qualify for the final rounds. They later competed for Plate Trophy which they won, defeating GMP on the Sunday.
