English Police River Championships – River Tees 07/05/25 – 08/05/25
3rd Place Nick McMullen Nick caught 5 fish to finish in 3rd place
5th Place Rory Noble Rory caught 4 fish to finish in 5th place
9th Place Darren Wood Darren caught 3 fish to finish in 9th place
This qualified Nick McMullen and Rory Noble to be in the England team for 2026 and Darren Wood will be a reserve for the team. Darren has already been informed that he will be able to fish for the England team due to others not being able to.
Region 2 Regionals – Sweethope 14/05/25 – 15/05/25
1st Place Individual Rory Noble An outstanding result with Rory catching his 12 fish bag limit by 14.00.
And even better, beating Pete Soloman from N. Yorkshire!
1st Place Team Northumbria The top 4 rods from Northumbria qualified for the 2026 PSUK
Nationals. They were Alan Chapman, Ian Stafford, John Williams and Nathan Crain.

Tony Barclay and Malcolm Nayler have also fished in a number of boat events in 2025. From Tony here are their results.
This year for the first time Malcolm represented England on Lough Corrib which has resulted in a further invitation to fish against the EFFA on Rutland in April of this year. Unfortunately Malcolm was unlucky in not catching.

1-5th September 2025 Malcolm Naylor & Tony Barclay England loch style team in 5 Nations ( Home nations @ Eire) lough Corrib Galway Ireland.
England team runners up to home team Eire.
Both qualified on the 23rd April 2026 for England v English Fly Fishing Association at Rutland water.
