2024 Update

2024 PSUK National Championship 31st Aug – 1 Sept

 

Police sport UK is our main and most prestigious National competition, the team competed exceptionally well this year and sailed through the group stages playing some magnificent football on day 1. The team we successful in the following fixtures beating  Essex 6-0 , Lancashire 3-0, South Yorkshire 2-0 and Surrey 4-0.

Day 2 results saw the team seeing off Wiltshire 1-0. In the Semi Final was played against  Cheshire constabulary which made for a much tougher test. Game finished 1-1, but Northumbria managed to edge the penalty shot out.  This was the team’s first final which proved a close, competitive contest against the hosts West Midlands. The tournament was won by West Midlands, Northumbria finishing tournament runners up in the by losing the final 0-1.

Jess Ellison from Northumbria Police firearm’s Department cleared up on the individual awards after a very successful tournament. She won player of the tournament and the finished the tournament top goal scorer so what a great team and personal achievement for Jess picking up two fantastic awards

2023/24 Emergency Service League

The team also took part in its first Emergency Service league. Where we finished as Semi-finalists going out in penalties to GMP who ended up winning the overall competition

The team has gone from strength to strength these last few years with regular competitive football, this is also lead to increased confidence, self-belief and the players have put in the hard work along with commitment so well done ladies.
