Inaugural National Padel Championships

We had an excellent event and overall weekend up at True Padel in Durham for our event which had representation from Northumbria, Greater Manchester Police, West Yorkshire Police, Essex Police, and Nottinghamshire Constabulary present, alongside a couple from other forces who formed a “Rest of the World” team.  Everyone engaged very well within the event, and it went without issue with everyone being very competitive but friendly in nature and no injuries! Overall, Northumbria came second in the tournament, which also meant that we were the recipient of some of the prizes that we had been supplied, which we were very pleased to see.

Following day 1 we had a bit of a night out with the other forces and everyone was in attendance which was great to see, it was an excellent atmosphere throughout and lead to an excellent final day on the Sunday where everyone played 1 longer game to decide who won the Trophy, Shield, and Cup from each seed. 2 of the 4 teams within the Northumbria team won their respective matches which means that overall Northumbria rated very highly within the tournament.
